FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Milwaukee, WI – September 2024- In a collaborative effort to bring renewed vitality to the 53206 neighborhood, local leaders and business owners, in partnership with the City of Milwaukee, are working to reestablish the North Teutonia Avenue Business Improvement District (BID). Spearheaded by a collection of business and property owners in the area in partnership with the City’s Neighborhood Business Development Administrator, Matt Rejc, the initiative aims to breathe new life into a historically underserved commercial corridor.
The North Teutonia Avenue BID will focus on fostering economic growth, improving safety, and supporting local entrepreneurs. The initiative will include storefront enhancements, façade and signage improvements, and sustainable energy retrofitting to create a greener, more vibrant business environment.
The North Teutonia Avenue BID represents a significant step in restoring economic opportunity and pride to this neighborhood. By working closely with community members and business owners, there will be support for not only existing businesses but also new ones that will be attracted to our area, creating jobs, and strengthening the local economy.
Residents have played a key role in shaping the future of the district through listening sessions and community forums, ensuring that local voices are heard and prioritized.
This project serves as a model of successful collaboration, demonstrating the power of public-private partnerships in revitalizing neighborhoods.
